La próxima vez que abras WhatsApp, quizás notes algunos cambios. Como anunciaron en una publicación de blog el jueves, la aplicación está lanzando una docena de funciones nuevas que afectarán los chats, las llamadas e incluso la pestaña de Actualizaciones. Esto es lo nuevo:
Actualizaciones en los chats
Los chats grupales recibirán varias mejoras esta vez. WhatsApp está agregando un indicador de “en línea” en los mensajes grupales, para que puedas ver quién tiene la aplicación abierta en ese momento. Este cambio te ayudará a saber cuántas personas están leyendo el chat actualmente. Verás el indicador justo debajo del nombre del grupo.
También, WhatsApp está añadiendo una nueva sección llamada “Notificar por” en la configuración de los chats grupales, para que puedas gestionar las notificaciones que recibes. Puedes usar la opción “Destacados” para limitar cuándo la aplicación te avisa, como cuando te mencionan (@), cuando hay respuestas o mensajes de contactos guardados. Claro, siempre puedes elegir recibir notificaciones de todos los mensajes, como antes.
Ahora también podrás crear eventos en chats individuales. Antes, esta función solo estaba disponible en grupos (lo cual tiene sentido, porque normalmente planeas eventos con varias personas). Pero si quieres organizar algo con un solo contacto o enviar una invitación personalizada a alguien que no usa la misma app de invitaciones que tú, esto te será útil.
Hay dos funciones exclusivas para iPhone: WhatsApp ahora tiene un escáner de documentos integrado en iOS, por si no quieres usar el de la app Notas. La opción está en el menú de adjuntos, bajo “Escanear documento”. WhatsApp dice que la función te guiará paso a paso para escanear, recortar y guardar el documento. Además, ahora puedes configurar WhatsApp como la app predeterminada para llamadas y mensajes en tu iPhone, si pasas más tiempo chateando ahí que en Mensajes de iOS.
El último cambio en los chats tiene que ver con las reacciones. Ahora puedes copiar la reacción de otra persona a un mensaje sin tener que buscar entre las opciones tú mismo.
Mejoras en las llamadas
Verás tres funciones nuevas al hacer llamadas. En iOS, puedes hacer un gesto de pellizco para acercar la imagen durante una videollamada. Esto funciona tanto en tu video como en el de la otra persona. Por ejemplo, si tu amigo te está mostrando algo pero no logras distinguirlo bien, puedes acercar la imagen para verlo mejor. Igualmente, si hay algo en tu video que quieres que la otra persona vea con más detalle, también puedes acercarlo.
Ahora puedes añadir a un amigo a una llamada individual deslizándote hacia su chat, tocando el botón de llamada y eligiendo “Añadir a la llamada”. Es un cambio pequeño, pero puede ser útil cuando necesites sumar a alguien a una llamada en curso.
Por último, WhatsApp dice que ha mejorado su tecnología para videollamadas, optimizando el sistema de conexión y mejorando la detección de ancho de banda. Las llamadas deberían tener mejor calidad y congelarse o cortarse menos seguido, aunque habrá que ver si esto se nota en el uso real.
Cambios en ‘Actualizaciones’
También hay tres cambios en la pestaña de Actualizaciones:
- Los administradores de canales pueden grabar y publicar videos directamente en la app (aunque deben durar 60 segundos o menos).
- Ahora puedes ver transcripciones de los mensajes de voz en los canales.
- Los administradores pueden compartir códigos QR para enlazar directamente al canal.
